deer park buddhist center

on this trip to wisconsin dan wanted to visit his former teacher from graduate school in tibetan philosophy, the venerable geshe sopa. so we traveled to madison and spent some time at the beautiful deer park buddhist center. we were given a tour of the monastery and then had an audience with the aged geshe sopa who still has a wild spark in his eyes and a wise smile on his lips. it was an honor to be in his presence. afterwards a kind monk gave us a tour the grounds, offered us tea, and introduced us to the resident buddhist cat.
