windhall 10

nasturtiums embraced decomposing stoop. she carefully crept upon
soft planks. french doors hung open. trees in green saris conducted
secret dance. she rearranged paint chips with her toe. so many lost
stories. umber buckled upon hard wood. shafts of light exposed the
unsettled. who had faced it lazily or pained? brick fireplace yearned
to tell. she heard music in frame and spun gracefully. foundation was
sinking. voices mumbled in walls. lace dress rustled. she climbed upon
roof for air. he met her there. trees continued to gyrate. imprint was
indelible. he held herb in his hand. she swallowed earth & fungus that
tasted of a forgotten home.
